Steinfeld Law advises owners of prestigious independent girl’s preparatory school on sale

Steinfeld Law acted for the owners of The Village School in Hampstead on its sale to Chatsworth Schools for an undisclosed sum.

The Village School was founded in 1985 by Carol Gay and Fanny Prior and was originally located in Kentish Town. Moving to a new site in Belsize Park in 1993, Carol became headmistress following Fanny’s retirement in 2007, with Ellen Bolsom becoming co-headmistress in 2009.

The school provides outstanding education for girls aged three to eleven and is situated in a beautiful location in the heart of Hampstead.

Following the sale, Carol and Ellen will both continue as co-headmistresses and will look to further develop and grow the school with the support of Chatsworth.

Carol and Ellen were advised by Steinfeld Law and Kingston Smith. Clyde & Co acted for Chatsworth Schools.
